Imagine I have an untrusted software which Do Not Want to access any directory except the one I specify (Restrict software access to an specific directory)

Is there a way other than (Virtual machine & Sandbox ) to do this ?

  • You could run the software as a standard user and delete the user account afterward.– dsstorefile1Apr 15 at 9:02
  • Windows 10 has a feature that might do what you want, but you have eliminated, the best options to do what you want. Either way software recommendations are out of scope– RamhoundApr 15 at 18:40
  • @dsstorefile but software can still access my files and folders on drives and etc– Mahdi RafatjahApr 16 at 10:34
  • @Ramhound I'm not looking after a software to do this. I want to know that if there is a way to do so and whats that called.– Mahdi RafatjahApr 16 at 10:34

@Mahdi Rafatjah No, there isn't. If the OS is vulnerable, you'll need a syscall filter of some sort, whether that comes in the form of virtualization or sandboxing.– dsstorefile1Apr 17 at 17:04
