After closing the Apple Software Updater for the last time, I am trying to uninstall Quick Time. When I go into control panel -> programs, I select it and press uninstall, and get two dialog boxes. The first says

Please wait while Windows configures QuickTime7

The other says

QuickTime7 requires that your computer is running Windows Vista or Windows 7.

I'm not really sure why my operating system matters when I'm removing the program (Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe programs need not be compatable with the operating system used to delete them). I could just unistall manually by deleting the files, but I'd really like to remove the rest of Apple's crap at the same time. And before you ask, yes, I am running Windows 7.

  • It matters because the installer which is the executable that removes the software doesn’t support anything other than Windows Vista or Windows 7 apparently. Have you tried to download the current QuickTime installer?– RamhoundJan 13 at 0:47
